Biography

Håkon Øverby was a Norwegian wrestler who competed at the 1968 and 1972 Olympic Games. He placed fifth at both the 1968 European Championships and the 1969 World Championships. Øverby was light-heavyweight Nordic Champion in 1970 and 1972. He won 11 Norwegian Championships from 1963-76, eight as a light-heavyweight and three as a middleweight. Øverby received the King’s Cup in 1969, and represented Sportsklubben av 09 in Oslo.
