Biography

Swiss freestyle wrestler Paul Hänni was active during the 1950s and 1960s, competing at two Olympics. Hänni made his début at the Games in 1952 in Helsinki where he competed in the bantamweight class. He lost his opening bout against Bill Borders of the USA before he was forced to withdraw in the second round due to injury. He returned the Olympics eight years later for the Roma Games, but was eliminated after losing his first two bouts. Hänni was 93-years-old when he died in December 2020.
