Biography

Hugh Peery graduated from Tulsa Central High School where he was an Eagle Scout and a two-time Oklahoma State Champion. He attended the University of Pittsburgh where he won three NCAA titles, and a gold medal at the 1951 Pan American Games. Peery attended dental school at Pittsburgh, graduating in 1956, after which he served as a lieutenant commander in the US Navy and dental corps. He returned to the Pittsburgh area after his military service and practiced dentistry for over 50 years. Peery was inducted into the National Wrestling Hall of Fame.
