Biography

Andrew Rein attended the University of Wisconsin where he won the NCAA title in 1980, after winning a gold medal at the 1979 Pan American Games. He was also Big 10 Champion in 1978 and 1980, and finished his senior year with a 40-0 record. Rein was twice a US Open champion and won gold at the 1983 Tbilisi Tournament, after taking silver at the 1982 World Cup of wrestling. After his silver medal at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics he turned to coaching, serving as head coach at his alma mater from 1986-93. Rein was 1992 Big 10 Coach of the Year. He left wrestling for the business world, serving as vice-president of PMCI from 1998-2007, then was director of reliability systems at SKF USA Inc. from 2007-12, and later was strategic account manager at SKF USA Inc.
