Biography

Fritz Kopperschmidt sailed in the 5.5 m class at the 1964 Summer Olympics at Enoshima Island on Sagami Bay. As he fell ill after the third regatta, he was replaced by Uwe Mares. The crew then placed fifth. Four years later at Acapulco he sailed with Eckart Wagner in the Star class and finished 12th.
