Biography

Austrian table tennis player Karl Jindrak participated in three editions of the Summer Olympics: 1996 Atlanta, 2000 Sydney, and 2004 Athens. He competed in the men’s doubles partnering Werner Schalger, but they were eliminated in the group stage in 1996 and in the third round in 2004. At Athens, the pair lost 3-2 in their quarter-final to the French duo Patrick Chila and Jean-Philippe Gatien and placed tied fifth. Jindrak and Schalger had their greatest sports moment by winning the 2005 European Championships.

After his active career, Jindrak turned to coaching and became manager of the International Table Tennis Federation, and was also the sporting director of the Austrian Table Tennis Federation.
