Biography

Hernando Arrechea finished third at the 1967 Pan American Games 4×100 metres Relay (with Pedro Grajales and the non-Olympians Carlos Álvarez and Jaime Uribe). In the 1967 Pan American Games 110 metres hurdles Arrechea finished fifth. His first known international competition was the 1963 South American Championships where he ran 15.7. He also recorded a wind-aided hand-timed mark of 13.9 in 1965, close to the world junior record at the time of 13.8.

Personal Best: 110H – 14.09 (1968).
