Biography

The son of a self-employed Northumberland fisherman, Ralph Harrison won the 2 miles walk at the AAA Championships in 1907 and finished third in 1906 and 1908. He was a finalist in both walks at the 1908 Olympic Games. In the 3,500 m he was disqualified on the second lap. He could not get a day off from the grocery business where he worked to compete in the final of the 10 mile walk.

Personal Bests: 2 miles Walk – 14:01.8 (1907); 3500W – 16:04.4 (1908); 10 miles Walk – 1-18:21.2 (1908).
