Biography

Shot putter Uwe Grabe finished seventh at the 1968 Olympic Games in Mexico City, and won a bronze medal at the Summer Universiade two years later. In 1972 he retired due to a shoulder injury. He was then educated in civil engineering and worked for the town of Cottbus in the construction office. After German re-unification Grabe constructed the building engineering office at Cottbus, and then became technical inspector for the animal park in Cottbus.

Personal Best: SP – 20.50 (1972).
