Biography

Mario Giuseppe Bonini was an Italian middle-distance runner who competed during the early 1920s. Bonini was a two-time national champion, winning the 400 metres title in 1920 and the 800 metres title in 1921. He had further national success in the 800 metres, winning silver in 1922 and 1923. At the 1920 Antwerpen Olympics he ran in the 800 and 1,500 metres, reaching the semi-finals in the former. Four years later Bonini ran in the 800 metres at the 1924 Paris Olympics but did not advance from the heats.

Personal Bests: 800 – 1:57.8 (1922); 1500 – 4:18.0 (1919).
