Biography

Ettore Rivolta was an Italian race walker who reached the apex of his career at the 1934 European Athletics Championships, winning a bronze medal over 50 km with a time of 4-54:05 behind the Latvian Janis Dalins, silver medalist two years earlier at the Olympics, and the Swiss Arthur Tell Schwab. Brignoli competed at two Olympic Games in the 50K, finishing 5th in 1932 and 12th in 1936. He earned three international caps. Domestically Rivolta was a five-time national champion in the 50 km: 1931, 1934-36, and 1939 with three different clubs – Comense, Mussolini Milano, and Cesare Battisti Milano.

Personal Best: 50kmW – 4-35:53 (1935).
