Biography

Italian track and field athlete Edgardo Toetti represented Sport Club Italia in Milano where he specialised as a sprinter. During his career Toetti won 12 national titles with victories in the 100 metres (1928–32, 1934), 200 metres (1928, 1932, 1934), and 4 x 100 metres relay (1930, 1933, 1935). In 1928 he competed in all three events at the Amsterdam Olympics but did not advance from the heats in any of them. He returned to the Olympics four years later where he was part of the Italian quartet that won bronze in the 4 x 100 metres relay. Toetti then finished fourth in the 4 × 100 metres relay (with Elio Ragni and the non-Olympians Ulderico Di Blas and Mario Larocchi) at the 1934 European Championships.

Personal Bests: 100 – 10.6 (1928); 200 – 21.8 (1931).
