Biography

Georges Schmit was a track and field athlete who represented Luxembourg at the 1928 Amsterdam Olympics. Schmit ran in the 100 metres but finished in last place in his heat. He was scheduled to run in the 200 metres in Amsterdam but did not start the race. Schmit also had the honour of being the flagbearer for Luxembourg at the Opening Ceremony of the Games.
