Biography

Mexican track and field athlete Daniel Eslava competed in middle-distance events as well as racewalking. Selected for a plethora of races at the 1924 Paris Olympics, Eslava ran in both the 1,500 metres and the 5,000 metres, but did not advance from the heats in either event. He also competed in the 10 kilometres race walk in Paris but was disqualified in his heat. Eslava was scheduled to run in the 3,000 metres steeplechase, 3,000 metres team race, and the cross-country race, but did not start in any of those. Two years after the Olympics he won bronze in the 1,500 metres and the 5,000 metres at the Central American and Caribbean Games.
