Biography

Sprinter Nel Büch was a member of Sagitta, a women-only club founded in 1936 by Jan Blankers, the coach and husband of Fanny Blankers-Koen. The club, and Büch, won the national title in the 4×100 m relay between 1950 and 1954. In 1952, Büch was also good enough to qualify for the national team that was to race at Helsinki. Despite an injury of star runner Blankers-Koen, the squad broke the national record and qualified for the final, where they placed 6th.

Personal Best: 100 – 12.1w (1953).
