Wojciech Trojanowski was a Polish athlete, journalist, sports reporter, and solider. As a track and field athlete Trojanowski won five national titles and set 11 Polish records during the 1920s and 1930s. He won his first national title in 1926 with victory in the high jump. In 1928 he became the Polish champion in the 110 metres hurdles and defended his title the following year, in addition to winning his second high jump title. His fifth and final national title came in 1930 when he won the triple jump. Trojanowski was a specialist in the 110 metres hurdles, with nine of his national records being set in the event. He competed in the race at the 1928 Amsterdam Olympics but was eliminated in the heats.
Trojanowski worked as a journalist for a daily sports paper before working for Polish radio in 1931 becoming one of the most popular sports reporters of the time. As a reporter he covered the Olympics in Amsterdam in 1928 and Berlin in 1936. With the outbreak of World War II he fought in the September Campaign before being sent to a German prisoner-of-war camp. He was liberated towards the end of the war and then worked for Radio Free Europe again as a sports correspondent. He continued to cover the Olympics including the Games in Innsbruck (1964), Grenoble (1968), and München (1972). Trojanowski later moved to London where he died in June 1988.
