Erik Kjellström was a Swedish track and field athlete who represented IF Thor. Kjellström was selected to run in the 400 metres hurdles at the 1924 Paris Olympics but did not start the race. Four years later at the 1928 Amsterdam Olympics he ran in both the 110 metres hurdles and the 400 metres hurdles but was eliminated in the heats in each race. Kjellström then emigrated to the United States where he worked as an international economic consultant. In 1934 he wrote the book Managed Money: The Experience of Sweden, which provided an in-depth analysis of the financial system in Sweden.
