Biography

Thorild Olsson was a Swedish distance runner who represented Örgryte IS. Olsson won his first medal at the Swedish championships in 1905 with a bronze in the 10,000 metres. He had the most success in the 1,500 metres, winning silver in 1909 and 1911, and bronze in 1907 and 1908. Olsson also won a silver medal in the 8km cross-country at the 1909 championships. At the 1912 Stockholm Olympics Olsson won silver in the 3,000 metres team event along with compatriots Ernst Wide and Bror Fock. Olsson ran in the 5,000 metres where he finished second in his heat to qualify for the final, but did not take the start line for the race.
