In 1928 Eric Svensson failed to qualify for the final of the long jump, placing eighth when only six jumpers made the final. In Los Angeles he was fourth in the long jump and won the silver medal in the triple jump, also receiving the Swedish award “Stor Grabb” in 1932. At the first European Championships in 1934 he took another silver in the triple jump. Svensson won two Swedish Championships (long jump and triple jump, both in 1933) and held Swedish records in the triple jump (1931-48) and long jump (1934-59).
