Biography

Walapa Tangjitnusorn was the leading female Thai sprinter most of the 1980-ies. Under her maiden name Pinij she was on the gold winning 4×100 m team in the Asian Games in 1978. In the Asian Championships in 1983 she was member of the gold medal teams both in 4×100 m and 4×400 m. Her latest gold medal was in Asian Championships 1985 in the 4×100 m. Her only individual medal was silver in 100 m at the Asian Championship 1983. In 1983 she participated in the first World Athletic Championship in 100 m, before being selected for the Olympic Games in 1984.

Personal Best: 100 – 11.72 (1985).
