Biography

Michelle Finn was a sprinter who finished seventh in the 200 metres at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics. Finn attended Florida State where she helped them win the 4x100 relay at the 1987 NCAA Meet. She also won golds in that event at the 1985 and 1989 Universiade, the 1986 Goodwill Games, and the 1987 Pan American Games. She added a silver medal in the relay at the 1993 World Championships. Finn was USA Champion in the 100 metres in 1990, and added bronze medals at the national in the 100 in 1988 and 1993, and the 200 in 1992-93. She was also USA Champion indoors in the 60 metres in 1990 and competed three times at the World Indoor Championships in the 60, twice making the final.

Finn was inducted into the Florida State Hall of Fame in 1990. She is married to Olympic sprinter and former world record holder Leroy Burrell. Leroy and Michelle’s son, Cameron Burrell, won the 2018 NCAA title at 100 metres, after finishing second in 2017, and won a bronze medal at the 2017 World University Games in the 4x100 relay.
