Biography

Goetz Klopfer was a long-distance walker who competed in two Olympic Games and twice at the Pan American Games. In 1967 he won bronze in the 50 km. walk and in 1971 he won the gold medal in the 20 km. walk at the PanAms. Klopfer was an aerospace engineer who worked for NASA.

Personal Bests: 20kmW – 1-32:24 (1969); 50kmW – 4-18:28 (1968).
