Biography

Larry Myricks made four US Olympic teams – 1976, 1984, and 1988, and the 1980 team that did not compete. He won a bronze medal at the 1988 Seoul Olympics. Myricks also won bronze medals at the World Championships in 1987 and 1991. He won gold medals at the 1979 and 1989 World Cups, the 1987 and 1989 World Indoors, and the 1980 Freedom Games in Philadelphia. He also won a silver medal at the 1986 Goodwill Games and the 1987 Pan American Games.

Myricks won the 1976 and 1979 NCAA titles while competing for Mississippi College, winning both indoors and outdoors in 1979. Myricks was TAC Champion in 1979-80. A top sprinter as well, he placed second in the 200 in 1983 and third in 1984 at the TAC Meet.
