Biography

Ray Watson won the AAU 880 in 1923 and 1927, the NCAA mile in 1921 (for Kansas State), and the AAU indoor 1,000y in 1923. In 1923 he ran on an Illinois AC 4xMile relay team that broke the world record in Chicago. Watson had finished third in the 880 yards at the AAU Meet in 1924, 1926, and 1928. Watson did this while running without a right hand, which he lost in a shooting accident when he was 13-years-old.
