Biography

Véronique Claudel competed at the 1992 and 1994 Winter Olympics, winning two relay medals, gold at Albertville and bronze in Lillehammer. She was a four-time medalist at the World Championships, but never made the top of the podium, with silvers in the relay in 1993 and 1995, and bronzes in the team event in 1994-95. Claudel was a 14-time French champion in biathlon. Competing for La Bressaude club, their biathlon race course and stadium was named in her honor. At the World Cup, Claudel competed in 96 events, with four podiums, all in the relay or team event, with one World Cup title in a team event. She had 11 World Cup top 10s, but never in an individual event.
