Biography

Christine Errath placed eighth at the 1972 Winter Olympics in figure skating and won the bronze medal four years later. In 1974 she was World Champion, placing second in 1976 and third in 1973 and 1975. At the Europeans Errath was the champion in 1973-75 and placed third in 1976. She was East German champion in 1974-75. She married tennis player Ulrich Trettin, but divorced and later married orthodontist Paul Stüber. Errath worked as a TV presenter on children’s television in the GDR, and after re-unification worked for the Mitteldeutscher Rundfunk MDR up to 2007. In 2010 she published Die Pirouettenköigin (Pirouette Queen).
