Biography

Rita Grande is a former Italian tennis player. She won three WTA titles: Hobart and Bratislava in 2001, and Casablanca in 2003. After an excellent youth career, in which she reached the 1993 Wimbledon junior final, she reached her highest world ranking at #24 in 2001. She also won five doubles titles and reached the mixed doubles semi-final at the 2004 Australian Open. Grande played for Italy several times in the Fed Cup between 1994 and 2003 and competed at the 1996 and 2000 Olympics. In 2005, an injury effectively ended her career.
