Biography

Rachel Mayer was an ice dancer who competed with Peter Breen. They had a brief career together, placing sixth at the 1991 US Championships, and second in 1992. In 1992 they also competed at the Winter Olympics and World Championships. Mayer later worked with the US Olympic Committee, being elected chair of the USOCs Athletes’ Advisory Council in 2001. From 2001-04 she served on the USOC Board of Directors and the USOC Executive Committee. After her marriage, Mayer-Godino settled in Palm Beach, Florida where she has focused on charitable efforts, serving as a member of the Board of Athletes for Hope, a public charity founded to increase Olympic and professional athletes’ involvement in charitable causes
