Biography

Polish-born steeplechaser Damian Kallabis finished 15th at the 2000 Sydney Olympics in the 3,000 metres. His greatest moment came in 1998 when he surprisingly won the European Championships. The following year he finished an unfortunate fourth at the Worlds. Kallabis reached second place at the European Cup in 1999, 2000, and 2002, and won the World Cup final in 1998.

Domestically, Kallabis won the German national title in 1998 and 2000. He also won several cross-country titles. By profession, he became a senior strategic buyer with a biotronic company in Switzerland.

Personal Best: 3000S – 8:09.48 (1999).
