Biography

Emma George was one of the early pioneers of women’s pole vaulting. She was the 1998 Commonwealth Games Champion. Between 1995-99 she set 12 world records in the pole vault and an additional five indoor world records. George was the first woman to clear 14-feet and 15-feet, and every 10-centimetre metric barrier between 4.20 and 4.60 metres. George was ranked #1 in the world in 1996-98.
