Biography

Hans Bauer, or “Zeller Hahn” as he was called, formed the well-known “Bayrischzeller Kleeblatt” with his teammates Fritz Pellkofer and Gustl Müller. In 1922 they founded the Skiclub Bayrischzell and in 1930, the Bayrischzeller Skischule, together with non-Olympian Wastl Bucher. Bauer was German Champion with the 4 x 10 km relay of the Bayrischer Skiverband in 1927 and 1928. In St. Moritz 1928 he started over 18 and 50 km cross country skiing with limited success. In the 1929 World Championships he placed 19th in the Nordic Combined. Bauer worked as a farmer and skiing instructor.
