Biography
From a Swiss-Irish family background, Mike Baumgartner grew up around Lake Placid, where he slid for the Saranac Lake Bobsled Club. Baumgartner competed in the 4-man event at the 1964 Innsbruck Winter Olympics. He worked as a salesman and also spent some time at Drake Business College. Baumgartner served in World War II from 1942-46.
