Biography

Walter Brück, who also played field hockey and bandy, led the ice hockey section of WEV up to March 1938 winning a number of Austrian Championship titles, and competing with them at the 1925 Spengler Cup. With the Austrian national squad he won the 1927 European Championships in Wien (Vienna) and claimed the bronze medal three years later, when the team was fourth at the World Championships.

Brück played with a European selection against Canada in 1927 alongside his brother Herbert. While Herbert was a center, Walter was a defender. In 1924 both were nominated for the Austrian ice hockey team that was withdrawn from the Olympic tournament at the last minute. Walter Brück was capped 31 times for Austria.
