Biography

Herman Carlsson was a goaltender who played most of his career with AIK Solna, although he started with Järva IS in 1922 and played for Karlbergs BK in the 1928/29 season. Carlsson won two Swedish league titles with AIK in 1934 and 1935. He was on the Swedish national team from 1929-36 and played at the 1936 Winter Olympics and the 1931 European Championships, earning 33 caps in the Swedish colors. Carlsson was an excellent all-around athlete, also competitive in bandy, football, bowling, and table tennis. He later became historian of AIK Solna and led the national team in the 1950s. Carlsson was inducted into the Swedish Hockey Hall of Fame.
