Biography

Austrian bobsleigher Fritz Dinkhauser participated in the 1968 Grenoble Winter Olympics. He partnered Max Kaltenberger in the two-men bob and placed eighth. With the four-men Austria II bob he came only 13th.

Dinkhauser, who started his sports career as a hammer thrower, became active in politics in 1964. As a party member of the right-winged ÖVP (Österreichische Volkspartei) he held several influential positions in the social systems in Tyrol, such as chairman of the regional association of the Chamber of Labour and Employees. In 2008 he became a member of the Tyrolean parliament, buy failed in his bid to become a member of the Austrian parliament that same year.
