Biography

Besides his Olympic bronze, Vladimir Musalimov was the Soviet welterweight champion three times in a row from 1967-69 and won bronzes at the Soviet Championships in 1966 and 1970. Musalimov also took bronze at the 1969 European Championships and silver at the 1971 World Army Championships. After his sporting career, Musalimov worked as a boxing coach and boxing referee in his hometown of Luhansk, Ukraine.
