Biography

Jiří Dolana was a fast winger with an accurate shot and good touch in the crease. He played for 14 seasons in the top Czech league, scoring 228 goals in about 300 games. Dolana played for Malsovice from 1952-54, ZVU Hradec Králové in 1954-56, TJ Dukla Olomouc in 1956-57, HC Dukla Jihlava in 1956-58, Dynamo and Tesla Pardubice in 1958-69, HC Bolzano in the Italian league in 1969-72, and ended his career with ZVU Hradec Králové in 1972-73. Dolana earned 59 caps for Czechoslovakia, scoring 33 goals, while competing at the 1964 Winter Olympics, winning a silver medal, and winning a silver medal at the 1961 World Championships and a bronze medal at the 1963 Worlds.
