Biography

During his career as a boxer, Yury Radonyak won the 1960 Olympic welterweight silver, a Soviet title in 1960 and silver in 1958 and also won gold at the 1958 World Army Championships. Radonyak finished his boxing career in 1962 with a record of 197 wins out of 226 bouts. After his boxing career, Radonyak worked as a boxing coach, coaching CSKA Moskva from 1962-73. From 1973-76, Radonyak was head coach of the Soviet national boxing team, and was also head coach of the Soviet 1972 and 1976 Olympic boxing teams.
