Biography

Racewalker Erica Alfridi was with the clubs Snam and Camelot Milano and grew under coach Sandro Damilano at the Sports Centre of Saluzzo. She won two medals at the European Championships: silver at 10 kilometres on the track in Budapest in 1998 and at 20 kilometres on road at München 2002.

At 20 kilometres, Alfridi won the Mediterranean title in Tunis 2001 and the Australian open in 2000, in addition to ten Italian titles (two each at five kilometres and 10 kilometres, three at 20 kilometres, and three at 3000 metres indoor). Her best performances are 42’15” at 10 kilometres and 1.27’49” at 20. From 1988-2004 she earned 29 international caps.

Personal Best: 20kmW – 1-27:29 (2001).
