Takao Suzuki was a Japanese tennis player who played professionally from 1995 to 2018. Suzuki achieved a career-best singles ranking of #102 in the world in November 1998, and a doubles ranking of #119 in the world in November 2005. He played on Japan’s Davis Cup team from 1995 to 2011.

Between April 1996 and May 2015 Suzuki won 17 singles titles and 18 doubles titles on the ATP Challenger and ITF Futures circuits. His first doubles title came in April 1996 in Nagoya, Japan, with his partner Satoshi Iwabuchi. Suzuki had a great run in singles matches on those circuits, winning 15 of the first 16 finals he competed in, with his first loss coming in his fourth final when he played Cecil Mamiit in July 1998. On the ATP Tour Suzuki won just one title when he and Iwabuchi won the doubles tournament at the 2005 Japan Open.

Suzuki and Iwabuchi competed in the doubles at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics with the duo reaching the second round. At the Asian Games Suzuki won gold, silver, and bronze in the team event in 2002, 2006, and 2010, respectively. He also won a bronze medal in the singles in 2002.
