Biography

Pedro José Gamarro was a welterweight boxer who won sliver at the 1976 Montréal Olympics. Gamarro was gold medalist at the 1974 Central American and Caribbean Games as a light-welterweight, and won bronze medals at the Pan American Games in 1975 and 1983. Gamarro started out as a wrestler but quickly turned to the ring. It is suspected that he boxed professionally briefly in the 1980s in Venezuela but no records of any bouts are known.
