Biography

Born in Bangkok by a Thai mother and an African-American father but growing up in the US, Trecia Roberts competed for USA until 1999 as a very promising hurdler, running a lifetime best of 12.73 in 1998. She chose to represent Thailand in the World Championship 1999 and was a semi finalist at the 100 m hurdles. She later competed in World Championships 2001, 2003 and 2005, on all occations she was unable to qualify from the first round. In Asian Championships and Games she has earned one silver and three bronze medals in her speciality event between 2000 and 2003, in addition to a 4×100 m relay silver in 2002.

In the 2000 Olympics she reached the semi final, but in 2004 she did not survive the first round. In 2006, aged 35, she came 6th in the 100 m hurdles at the Asian Games.

Personal Bests: 100 – 11.61 (1999); 100H – 12.73 (1998).
