Mathieu Cordang was a good all-rounder who won the World Championship in 1895 in the motor-paced event, the Bol d’Or event in 1900 and won the 1894 Maastricht-Nimègue-Maastricht. He also rode Bordeaux-Paris three times, placing second in 1897 and fifth in 1896.
