Biography

Michelle Collins was a long sprinter who ran the 400 metres at the 2000 Sydney Olympics. She won the 2003 World Indoor Championship at 200 metres but was later disqualified for use of performance-enhancing drugs (PEDs). Collins was linked to the BALCO Scandal. While never testing positive she later admitted to using THG (Tetrahydrogestrinone, aka “The Clear”) and EPO (erythropoietin), and many of her results were retracted. She was given an eight-year suspension by USADA, which was reduced to four years after she threatened to appeal and then confessed to PED usage, but the long suspension effectively ended her career.
