Biography

Tom Pappas was a three-time Olympian in the decathlon, finishing fifth in 2000, although he did not finish the event in 2004 and 2008. Pappas was the 2003 World Champion in the decathlon and won the heptathlon that year at the World Indoor Championships.

Pappas attended the University of Tennessee where he won the 1999 NCAA Championship. He was a five-time USA Champion in the decathlon (2000, 2002-03, 2006-07), and was twice USA Indoor Champion in the heptathlon (2000 and 2002). He later settled in Eugene, Oregon where he owned and ran a Cross-Fit gym.
