Biography

Among the players who have left their mark on Italian softball, Roma’s Claudia Petracchi certainly deserves a prominent place. She started at age 16 with S.S. Lazio Softball, after trying swimming and modern pentathlon, and then later in her career played with Bussolengo, Rental Ronchi, Nuoro, and Macerata.

Petracchi won eight Italian titles (5 with Lazio, 2 with Bussolengo, 1 with Macerata), two Champions Cups (1991 – Lazio, 2005 – Macerata), and earned 201 international caps. Petracchi helped Italy win five European Championships (1986, 1993, 1995, 1997, 1999), and competed at four World Championships and at the 2000 Sydney Olympics.

Petracchi also played with 20-year-old Lisa Fernandez, one of the best players ever, with S.S. Lazio and won a Champions Cup with her at Roma in 1991. Petracchi retired in 2006.
