Biography

Stefan Ulm was a German sprint canoeist who won two silver medals with the K4-1,000 metres at both the 2000 Sydney and the 2004 Athens Olympics. He also won two gold medals and one silver at European Championships. At the Worlds, Ulm added five gold, two silver, and one bronze medal.

Ulm was awarded the Silver Bay Leaf, Germany’s highest sports award. He was a long-time athlete’s speaker of the German Canoe Federation and later became national coach at the Regional Centre of Duisburg. Ulm married non-Olympian canoeist Ute Pleßmann.
