Biography

Valerie Ziegenfuss played in the Olympic tennis demonstration events at the 1968 Mexico City Olympics. Ziegenfuss was one of the Original 9 who formed the Virginia Slims Circuit in 1970, the forerunner of the WTA Tour. Ziegenfuss won six career professional doubles titles. In singles she never won a professional tournament but reached the final of the 1972 Oklahoma tournament on the Virginia Slims Circuit. She reached the fourth round of singles at the 1972 French Open and the US Open in 1969 and 1975.
