Biography

Kathy Colin was a flatwater canoeist who competed at the 2000 and 2004 Olympic Games. She was a five-time medalist at the Pan American Games, winning the 2003 K-2 500 metres. She won three Pan Am silver medals, the 1999 K-1 500 and K-2 500, and the 2003 K-4 500 metres, adding a bronze in the 1999 K-4 500 metres.

A Hawai’i native Colin attended the University of Washington where she competed on the rowing team. She later worked as a software engineer for Northrup Grumman in San Diego. Colin competed several times in the 40-mile Na Wahine O Ke Kai race from Molokai-to-Oahu, where she first partnered with her 2004 K-2 teammate, Lauren Spalding.
