Lars-Eric Lundvall started to play hockey with IFK Bofors in 1950 and moved to Södertälje SK in 1955. After two seasons with Södertälje, Lundvall again played one season with Bofors, but in 1958 was called back to Södertälje and played with them until 1960. In 1960, Lundvall joined Västra Frölunda IF and played with them until the end of his career in 1968. With Södertälje, Lundvall won the Swedish title in 1956 and he won his second Swedish title in 1965 with Västra Frölunda. He was also selected to the Swedish Championship all-star team in 1959 and 1960. Lundvall was capped with the Swedish national team 195 times and scored 79 goals.
Lundvall won an Olympic silver in 1964, was a World Champion in 1957 and 1962 and won silvers at the 1963 World Championships and bronzes at the 1958 and 1965 World Championships. He was also European Champion in 1957 and 1962, won silver at the 1956, 1958, 1963 and 1964 European Championships and bronzes at the 1955, 1959, 1960 and 1965 European Championships. After finishing his sporting career, Lundvall worked as an ice hockey coach with Västra Frölunda IF. He also ran a gas station with his teammate from the national team and Södertälje and Västra Frölunda clubs, Ronald Pettersson. Lundvall was awarded the Stora Grabbars Märke (Big Boys’ Badge) #47 in ice hockey.
